I have built a web site to answer this question:
http://www.autonursis.org/ It is a large site and covers many diverse
topics. However, it has one central theme to revolutionize nursing by
providing one central concept and one central method of nursing
practice. My clinical experience and education have lead me to conclude
that there is in fact only one phenomenon of health care and that is
nursing. All the various types of conventional and alternative medical
systems are in fact simply forms of nursing.

My thesis is that since nursing is in fact a biological phenomenon
common to all mammalian species, it is in fact the primary and
archetypal form of health care. Anthropology has demonstrated that the
female of primate species is the original source of knowledge regarding
healing herbs and health practices. Today female chimpanzees as well as
other apes can be found gathering medicinal plants to treat a number of
disorders.

The phenomenon of placebo is I believe the nursing effect, and as many
medical historians have noted, the history of medicine is the history
of the placebo effect. Today health care is in crisis the world over,
nursing in particular is declining. Yet nursing holds the key to
uniting all the various forms of health care, conventional and
alternative with one universal principle, the nursing effect
(autonursis).

My concern is to empower the bedside nurse and to give them the tools
and authority to do their work free from the forms of oppression which
now stiffle their vital work. In the web site I demonstrate the
clinical tool by which nurses can achieve that goal. Please review the
